AC not cooling? 5 things to check before calling a technician

You just came home to a stuffy living room. The AC is on, the light is blinking, but it feels like a hairdryer set to warm. Before you dial a technician, run these five checks — they solve most complaints we get in Gurgaon summers.

1. Clean the filters (2 minutes)

Dust in Gurgaon is relentless. A clogged filter drops cooling by 15–25%. Slide it out, rinse under tap water, let dry, put back.

2. Set fan speed to Auto, mode to Cool

Someone in the house may have switched to Fan or Dry mode. It happens more than you'd think.

3. Check the outdoor unit

If leaves or a bird nest are blocking the coil, the AC can't reject heat. Clear it and wait 15 minutes.

4. Try 24°C, not 18°C

Setting too low overloads the compressor and can actually cool worse. 24°C is optimal for Gurgaon.

5. Listen for the compressor

Stand near the outdoor unit. Do you hear a low hum? If yes, compressor is on. If not, call us.
